The inputs\ncan be pulse width modulated (PWM) to control engine speed, using a choice of\npower drop modes. If you set both inputs to low, a power saving mode is\nactivated. The DRV8871 features advanced current control circuit that does not\nuse analog voltage reference or external measuring resistor. This novel\nsolution uses a low-power standard low power resistor to set the current\nthreshold. The ability to limit the current to a known level can significantly\nreduce the requirements for system performance and bulk capacity required to\nmaintain a stable voltage, especially in engine start and shutdown conditions.\nThe device is fully protected against errors and short circuits, including\nundervoltage (UVLO), over-current (OCP) and over-temperature (TSD).
