After opening the reed tube in three parts, we check one by one if it\nhas the minimum and maximum density to obtain a quality future reed. Thanks to\nthis hard work, we can classify future reeds into soft, medium, strong and we\ndiscard all those that have low or high density, segments that would cause the\nreed to not work. These\nprocesses are carried out with machines specifically manufactured for each\ncane preparation step. In each of the steps, all the canes that present any\nimperfection are discarded to assure a good oboe or bassoon reed. During all these years we have\nbeen improving this process little by little and always doing everything in an\nartisanal way as shown by the two documents of artisan qualification of the\nValencian Community that we have (2939 and 4614).
