Divolight provides you with premium water testing equipment. You have to know!!! You can use reliable, accurate digital equipment. Not necessary to use color strips, guessing looking at the color change. You can accurately know your quality of life, by using Divolight combo testers for water. (TDS) Total dissolved solids Total dissolved solids (TDS) are the amount of organic and inorganic materials, such as metals, minerals, and salts, dissolved in a particular volume of water; TDS is essentially a measure of anything dissolved in water that is not an H2O molecule. Total dissolved solids (TDS) are measured as parts per million (ppm). According to the EPA secondary drinking water regulations, 500 ppm is the recommended as an extremely maximum amount of TDS for your drinking water. Any measurement higher than 1000 ppm is an unsafe level of TDS. If the level exceeds 2000 ppm, then a filtration system may be unable to properly filter TDS. EC (electrical conductivity) Ocean waters have water electrical conductivity of about 5 mS (5000 µS), tap water has EC in the range of 250 to 900 µS, depending on the source, freshwater streams may fall in the range of 100 to 2000 µS and distilled water has EC of between 0.5 and 3 µS. Salinity and total dissolved solids (TDS) are used to calculate the EC of water. The technical definition of pH is that it is a measure of the activity of the hydrogen ion (H+) and is reported as the reciprocal of the logarithm of the hydrogen ion activity. Therefore, a water with a pH of 7 has 10-7 moles per liter of hydrogen ions; whereas, a pH of 6 has 10-6 moles per liter. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. How pH affects aquatic life Changes in the pH value of water are important to many organisms. Most organisms have adapted to life in water of a specific pH and may die if it changes even slightly. This is especially true of aquatic macroinvertebrates and fish eggs and fry. The pH is a critical factor determining the health of a waterway. The factors that control it are complicated. As with many environmental concerns, we need to be aware of the implications of any impacts we have upon the environment. The pH of pure water (H20) is 7 at 25°C, but when exposed to the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere this equilibrium results in a pH of approximately 5.2. Because of the association of pH with atmospheric gasses and temperature, it is strongly recommended that the water be tested as soon as possible. The pH of the water is not a measure of the strength of the acidic or basic solution and alone does not provide a full picture of the characteristics or limitations with the water supply. Product Features
- [Why do you need pH and DTS & EC meters] it is a tool to improve your quality of life. these testers can be used to test drinking water, swimming pools, fish tanks, RO systems, or hydroponic water. Any environment that requires testing of water can use these testers to get accurate data. You have to be safe because water can be life, but can be dangerous.
- [Test your water with this TDS and EC meter] - Is your water pure and drinkable? With the push of a button, the TDS water quality tester will tell you your overall water purity level, which will be displayed on the screen in ppm. Our pen can quickly display the conductivity level of water (Conducts Electricity (EC)) also; it means the dissolved minerals (ions) in water are what conduct the electricity. Finally, you will know the level of pollution and mineralization of water.
- [Automatic temperature compensation] - There is no need to worry about the temperature of the test liquid affecting the measurement results, as both the pH meter and TDS meter have an automatic temperature compensation function that adjusts to the water temperature
- [pH tester] Full measurement range of pH 0 - 14, reliable and quick readings. How to calibrate pH pen - Press CAL key for 5 seconds to enter calibration mode, then press to select 6.86, 4.00, 9.18 corresponding powder to finish calibration, pH pen electrode is easily affected by the environment, if not used often, calibration before use will get accurate measurement results, regular use will keep the accuracy of measurement
- [Great for all home and laboratory] TDS & & EC and pH testing applications including drinking water, cooking water, aquariums, swimming pools, hydroponic, etc... Not necessary anymore to compare color strips. It's digital reality.
